Rosebud-Lott's Lady Cougar volleyball team made history this year with their trip to the Regional volleyball tournament. And now, several players have earned honors that rank them among the best in the state of Texas.
Senior setter Kayley Robertson earned All-State honors from the Texas Girls Coaches Association, setter position honors from the Texas Sports Writers Association, and 1st Team honors from the Texas High School Coaches Association.
Senior libero Jackie Salazar earned All-State Honorable Mention honors from the Texas High School Coaches Association and All-State Libero position honors from the Texas Sport Writers Association.
Junior hitter Brightan Willberg earned All-State outside hitter honors from the Texas Sports Writer Association.
Sophomore hitter Kaitlyn Jenkins earned All-State 2nd team honors from the Texas High School Coaches Association.
"I am beyond proud of these young ladies. It is not only recognizing of their hard work and success, it is recognition for the entire team," said Head Coach Amanda Spencer. "It took them all to have the success we did this past season. Any time individuals receive top honors, it is a reflection of them all."
All four players were leaders on the court, racking up stats that rivaled previous years. Salazar led the team in digs on defense, while Robertson led the region in assists and serves. Willberg and Jenkins lead the district in hits and kills.
